Groton Public Library seeks to expand Board of Trustees

Groton, NY – The Groton Public Library is currently seeking community members to serve on its Board of Trustees. Trustees guide the library’s long term development in partnership with the Library Director. Trustees are responsible for financial oversight and policy development to ensure the library serves the communities needs and are advocates for the library to the community at large. They are expected to attend monthly meetings of the board and other meetings as required. Trustees are elected at the annual meeting on April 27, 2010 and commit to a three year term which starts July 1 2010.Community members interested in serving on the Board must reside in, the Groton School district, and have lived there for 3 months and be at least 18 years of age. The Board seeks a wide range of skills and backgrounds, including public relations, fundraising, buildings & grounds, teaching and education, and of course a love of books.
