Batten down the hatches: 55 mph gusts Saturday

The Finger Lakes region is in store for a wild Mother’s Day Weekend of weather beginning Friday night.Thunderstorms will roll through the western counties of the Finger Lakes mid-afternoon as winds increase up to 25 mph.Overnight, showers will continue into Saturday morning as winds steadily increase out of the southwest up to 40 mph. Some gusts may reach 55 mph by late Saturday afternoon and continue into the evening as temperatures drop into the 30’s overnight. Precipitation could fall in the form of either rain, or likely, snow showers.On Mother’s Day, it will feel less like the early summer weather we’ve enjoyed lately, and more like a blustery day in late March.
