School Announces Evening of Excellence Awards

Certificates, cash, candles and cake. South Seneca Middle School students received awards and honors at the annual end-of-the-year Evening of Excellence Awards ceremony. This is the last assembly in the auditorium before it is converted to a chorus room and band room this summer. Mr. Gary McCheyne presented the eighth grade Good Character and Service to Others Award from the Interlaken Reformed Church to Emily Boyes. Mr. Scott Diamond presented the Seth Diamond Memorial Award for Unusual Creative Talent Award–Cierra Hand. Lion’s Club 8th Grade Artistic Merit Award donated by the Ovid-Willard Lion’s Club–Erin Wilkins. Five Star Bank Community Service Project Winners– 8th grade-Kyle Darling; 7th grade-Brittani Bub, Holly Reynolds. Ira McGonigal Memorial Award–Ed Hildreth. Five Points Star Student Awards donated by Five Points Correctional Facility: 6th grade–Joey Bowers, 7th grade–Monique Sheldon, 8th grade–Marsena Jordan. Effort and Improvement in Music donated by the south Seneca Chapter #200 Order of the Eastern Star–Hannah McCheyne. 7th Grade Citizenship Award donated by the American Legion Auxiliary Post #462 Interlaken–Hannah McCheyne; 8th Grade Achievement Award donated by Seneca Falls Elks Auxiliary #992–Cortney Waid. 8th Grade Character & Citizenship Award presented by the Lodi Whittier Library–Austin Sample. 8th Grade Courage, Confidence & Character Awards presented by Girl Scout Troops 952 & 953–Caitlyn Smith, Makayla Jones. Triple C Awards–Mitchell Brewer, Pamela Bower. Comptroller Leadership Potential & Public Service Award–Marsena Jordan.
