Trillium Members to Perform at Hope Lake Lodge

Members of Trillium will perform at the Opening Reception for the Local Art Exhibit at Hope Lake Lodge cosponsored by the Cultural Council of Cortland County and Hope Lake Lodge in Virgil. The reception, scheduled for Friday, July 9, from 5:00pm-8:00pm, will also feature a wine and cheese tasting. The lobby area and the hallway displaying the local art will be open for the public. Proceeds from the $8.00 entry fee will support The Cultural Council of Cortland County. Advance tickets can be purchased at The Picture House, 85 Homer Ave, Cortland, and online at CortlandArts.comTrillium, named after the three-petaled wildflower, is a classical trio featuring flautist Maria Mucaria, violinist Lois Pfister, and pianist Marina Gorelaya. The three musicians are frequently heard in a variety of settings and have attracted a dedicated following.Maria Mucaria has an MA in music history and literature with a performance emphasis of piccolo and flute from Long Island University. She is a member of the National Flute Association and the New York Flute Club. She has organized and directs the Cortland Area Flute Ensemble which fosters musical partnership and growth for flute enthusiasts through repertoire, performances, and other flute related opportunities.Lois Pfister has a Masters in Music Performance from Penn State. She is the Concertmistress of the Cortland-Community Orchestra and plays with other groups including the Syracuse Symphony, Cayuga Chamber Orchestra and the Skaneateles Festival Orchestra.Marina Gorelaya was born in the Ukraine where she began study of piano at the age of six. She earned a Ph.D. in music from the Kiev State Tchaikovsky Conservatory.
