App. for inclusion of viable farmland into cert…

The Seneca Co. Agriculture Enhancement Board is seeking applications from owners of viable agricultural land in Seneca Co. that is currently not enrolled in certified agricultural districts. Applications to enroll land into certified agricultural districts should be postmarked by March 31, 2011 and sent to the Ag. Enhancement Board c/o Cornell Cooperative Extension, Seneca Co., Bobbie Harrison, 308 Main St. Shop Centre, Waterloo, NY 13165 or emailed to rmh27@cornell.edu. In the letter or email, note the district in which the parcel is to be enrolled, describe the land, include the town and tax map number and that portion of the tax map that contains the parcel. Viable agricultural land means land highly suitable for agricultural production and which will continue to be economically feasible for such use if real property taxes, farm use restrictions, and speculative activities are limited to levels approximating those in commercial areas not influenced by the proximity of non agricultural development. For more information, contact Bobbie Harrison at 315/539-9251 or email at rmh27@cornell.edu.
