April 5, 2011 The Steuben County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Michael F. Tierney, 45 of Arkport N.Y. Tierney was charged with Endangering the welfare of a child, a Class A misdemeanor. Leandra’s Law Driving while Intoxicated a Class E Felony, Leandra’s Law driving with .08 blood alcohol content or more a Class Efelony, Consuming alcohol in a motor vehicle, driving with an obstructed view and failure to report his address change to the department of motor vehicles.Tierney was charged following a vehicle and traffic stop at around 3:30 pm, on State Route 36 in the Hornellsville Township. Following an investigation by Deputies it was discovered that Tierney had consumed alcohol prior to operation of his motor vehicle and had an open container of alcohol in the vehicle while operating same with a 15 year old passenger. Tierney was processed and is scheduled to appear in Hornellsville Town Court on May 18, 2011 at 7:00 pm to answer all related charges.
