FL Carp Derby Registration Closes Saturday

They are huge. They are ugly. And they can be worth big bucks in the annual Finger Lakes Carp Derby. Saturday is the last day to register for the annual event sponsored by Waterloo Rotary.Registration is $10 per individual and $25 for immediate family. Registrations are accepted at CanalSide Experiences, 706 Waterloo-Geneva Road, Waterloo, (315) 651-4443 or Nugents Hardware, 5 W. Main Street, Waterloo (315) 539-4013 and KT Styling, PreEmption Road, Geneva. Checks should be made payable to Waterloo Rotary Club.The derby will be from sunrise till noon on Sunday, June 12, with weigh-in from noon to 3 p.m. on Oak Island, Waterloo. Prizes will be awarded for the four heaviest carp, the smallest carp and the heaviest total of carp registered. The annual Carp Derby is sponsored by Barrett Marine, Coe Genung Funeral Home, Lifecare Medical Associates, Lodi Rod & Gun Club, Seneca Falls Savings Bank, Seneca Meadows, State Sen. Mike Nozzolio and Sessler Wrecking. A concession stand will offer snacks and drinks.
