Woman charged with stealing, cashing check in Ovid

On Wednesday at 6:05 pm, Seneca County Sheriff Office Investigators arrested Angeleke M. Newport, age 21, currently incarcerated at the Seneca County Correctional Facility for Grand larceny, possession of a forged instrument in the third degree and criminal possession of stolen property in the fifth degree. The charges stem from an investigation into an incident that occurred on February 3, 2014 in the Town of Ovid when Newport cashed a stolen and forged check for $2600.Newport is to re-appear on April 1, 2014 in the Town of Ovid Court to answer to the charges.
