Late season lake-effect; Where is spring?

A cold north wind is crossing Lake Ontario this morning and producing lake effect flurries and squalls as if it were February. These winds will persist through tonight and Monday, leading to a continued risk of lake effect snow through Monday afternoon.By Monday afternoon, winds will turn to the southwest, removing any chance for lake effect snow in the Finger Lakes.Thankfully, it is getting harder and harder for us to accumulate snow due to the ever increasing strength of the sun. It is likely that the snow will start to stick in some areas, only to melt away between snow showers as the sun comes out. This is possible even though temperatures will be in the upper 20s because of the strength of the sun.The media has been buzzing about a storm on Tuesday. While it is true that some models show a huge, extremely strong storm, all models keep this system well to our east, out over the Atlantic Ocean. Before this monster forms, a small, weak system may swing through on Tuesday with a bit of snow, but it should not be a big deal.More cold air will come in for Wednesday, but after that, temperatures get more springy!
