Winter Weather Advisory tonight

The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the majority of the Finger Lakes region, in effect from 5:00 pm this afternoon to 7:00 am Wednesday morning. The onset of the icy mix that is expected could impact tonight’s commute.Snow, sleet, and freezing rain is expected and will develop during the late afternoon hours along a weak wave of low pressure. Moisture streaming north over a shallow layer of below freezing air will result weather conditions that could effect travel, potentially during Tuesday evening’s commute home.This Afternoon:Light snow likely, mainly after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 34. Southeast wind 9 to 11 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. Total daytime snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.Tonight:Rain, snow, and sleet before 1am, then a chance of rain and sleet between 1am and 4am, then a chance of rain and snow after 4am. Low around 34. South wind around 15 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than one inch possible.Wednesday:A chance of rain and snow showers before 7am, then a chance of rain showers. Cloudy, with a high near 42. Southwest wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
