The Wayne Eagles used a big second half comeback to edge the Geneva Panthers boys varsity basketball team by three points on Thursday night in Geneva.Geneva jumped out to a 24-6 lead early in the 2nd quarter before Wayne came storming back to cut the lead to just 4 after the third.With just 2 seconds remaining in the game, Geneva’s Marquan Ross found himself on the line, after getting banged up on the play before, needing to make two shots to send the game into overtime. He missed the first and Wayne would go on to win by a score of 48-45.Terry Rogers led all scorers with 19 points and Bryce Saba added 12 for Wayne. For Geneva, Marquan Ross had 11 points, 5 steals and 5 assists in the losing effort.Geneva falls to 3-8 on the season while Wayne improves to 3-6.Geneva travels to Midlakes next on Tuesday night while Wayne hosts Penn Yan on Wednesday.
