W-FL Thursday: 3-way Wayne County race tightens

With their win at North Rose-Wolcott on Thursday night, the Red Creek Rams successfully bounced back from their loss as Lyons earlier this week and have forced a three-way tie (in the loss column) atop the standing in the Wayne County League. If the next week and-a-half go according to chalk, Red Creek will have secured their school’s first ever boys basketball Wayne County league title, a co-championship with the winner of the Lyons and NR-W game on February 13th.Of course, things don’t always go according to chalk. North Rose-Wolcott has the toughest finish to their league slate. The Cougars still have to host an improving Clyde-Savannah team and will travel to face East Rochester on the final night of the regular season.Lyons, in addition to their showdown with NR-W, will travel to face 2-11 Williamson (2-11) and host Marion.Coach Jamie Grimshaw’s Red Creek Rams will also play at Williamson on February 13th, but the game before that, at Gananda (5-10) two days prior, looks to be the biggest obstacle between the Rams and their first ever league title.Red Creek wasn’t the only team to bounce back from a disappointing loss Thursday night. In Finger Lakes West action, Les Miller’s Dundee Scots handled HAC after losing their showdown with undefeated Naples on Tuesday.Full results, standings, upcoming schedule and more below…Thursday Night’s W-FL Results#4 Lyons 62 #10 Clyde-Savannah 48 LYO – (14-2) Damon Hunter 30; Josh DeSain 11 (3-3pt)CS – (7-8) Michael Turner 14, 20 reb#3 Red Creek 64 #6 North Rose-Wolcott 40 RCK – (13-2) Jake Slobe 24, 9 reb; Willie Meyer 17, 11 reb; Griffin Klein 12, 7 astNRW – (12-3) Tyler Norris 17; Luke Gerstner 10Sodus 46 Marion 31 SOD – (5-10) Andrew Hines 22MRN – (1-14) Taylor Christie 11Williamson 60 East Rochester 70 WIL – (2-11) Matt Sperr 23; Jack Devendorf 21ER – (9-6) Keith Butler 16; Demarre Nelson 16; Mike Hook 13Bloomfield 64 SOTA 76 BLM – (6-7) Alex Flattery 21SOTA – (15-1) James Clarke 17 (3-3pt), Christian Simmons 16, 8 rebRomulus 30 South Seneca 63 ROM – (0-14) Kelby Karlsen 8SS – (5-10) Eric Dresser 19; Lincoln Bachman-Lowe 15; Marshall Worden 11, 9 reb; Andy Johndrew 10#7 Dundee 51 HAC 40 DUN – (12-3) Geordan Conyers 10, 9 reb; Andrew Clark 9, 6 stlHAC – (7-7) Nick Boyer 12 (3-3pt); Jamaar Paisley 10 (3-3pt), 5 rebHoneoye 35 #2 Naples 74 HON – (2-12)NAP – (14-0) Marcus Whitman 61 Red Jacket 54 MW – (10-3) Brad Stone 12, 8 reb; Caleb Green 11, 13 stlRJK – (4-9) Glenn Austin 22, 9 reb; Dan Brown 13, 8 rebStandings Through 2/5WAYNE COUNTY01.
