W-FL Thursday: Naples caps perfect regular season

On the final night of the regular season in Section V boys basketball, the Naples Big Green defeated Red Jacket to complete their regular season schedule without a single blemish. Mick Salter’s bunch will take their 18-0 record and #2 NYS Class C3 ranking into sectionals where they will face the winner of Pavilion vs. Bolivar-Richburg on February 27th. While each of these teams are playing well enough to contend, they will all have to overcome the monumental task of taking on the #1 seed in Class B1, Leadership Academy. Leadership Academy, a charter school, has a 16-3 record and defeated Bishop Kearney 89-65 last night. Fans of the FL East schools will become familiar with Victor Caldwell, Devante Hagins, and Keith McGee in short order if they draw the top seed in the coming weeks.- Aquinas completed their first undefeated regular season in school history on Thursday night with a 72-27 win over McQuaid.- Friday morning seeding is officially announced for the Sectional Play-Offs at 8:00 at Burgundy Basin Inn in Pittsford.
