Sectional Saturday: Newark survives in a thriller

After trailing by one at halftime, the Newark Reds responded on their home court in the second half to edge #7 University Prep by a score of 66-65 to advance to the Class A2 semifinals at the Blue Cross Arena. Also in A2, Wayne saw their season come to an end at the hands of top seed Batavia. Also bowing out of the tournament from the Wayne-Finger Lakes was Midlakes in Class B2, and HAC in Class D1. The Canandaigua Braves advanced on Saturday night in Class A1.
