The sixth annual Kids’ Karnival in the Town of Marion Park sponsored by Wayne County Rural Health Network will take place on Saturday, September 12, 2015 from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm. This free health celebration includes information, giveaways, and games that focus on health and physical activities for children and families. There will be raffles with prize drawings for attending and learning about health resources and services in Wayne County. The Town of Marion Park is located at 4072 Park Drive, Marion, NY, directly behind the Highway Department, just off of State Route 21. The featured Family Fun Walk includes a $20 Walmart gift card for the registered families who complete the walk. The gift card giveaway is limited to the first 20 families who pre-register for the walk and complete the perimeter path around the Town of Marion Park (less than ¾ mile). According to Emilie Sisson, Manager of Wayne County Rural Health Network, “The purpose is to encourage exercise and to celebrate the fun that families can have when they are physically active together. We know that families sometimes find it difficult to plan activities together. The Karnival provides an opportunity for playful family activities.” Pre-registration for the Family Fun Walk is required, is limited to 20 families, and ends when 20 families are registered. To register, please call (315) 483-3200. There is a limit of one registration per family and a family must include at least two people, one of whom is an adult. Also featured is a free bounce house for children to enjoy. Parents and children can look forward to a day of fun, games and information — all easily accessible at the Town of Marion Park. This health fair is free with no cost to the families who participate. Sponsors include: Wayne County Rural Health Network and Newark-Wayne Community Hospital. This event is made possible by a grant to the Wayne County Rural Health Network from the NYS Department of Health, Office of Rural Health. Founded in 1997, Wayne County Rural Health Network’s mission is to collaborate with other organizations in order to plan, initiate, and implement innovative solutions for emerging and unmet health and human services needs that one provider alone could not undertake.
