On Sunday the Penn Yan Police Department arrested two people for DWI.Wanda Wood, 69 of State Route 54A in Penn Yan, was stopped on East Main Street for failure to keep right. Wood did exhibit signs of intoxication and was given several field sobriety tests. Wood was found to be intoxicated and placed under arrest at 1:36 am. She was taken to the Yates County Public Safety Building for a breath test which revealed a .08% BAC. Wood was charged with DWI, DWI with .08% or more, and failure to keep right. She was processed and released and is to return to Village Court at a later date.Karl H. Albert , age 53 of Little Church Road in Stanley, was stopped on Main Street for failure to use a turn signal. Albert did show signs of intoxication and was asked to perform field sobriety tests, which he refused all but one. Albert was placed under arrest at 1:38 am and taken to the Yates County Public Safety Building where he also refused to take a chemical test. Albert was charged with DWI, refusal to take prescreen device, and failure to use signal. He was arraigned in Penn Yan Village Court where bail was set at $500 cash or $1000 property bond.
