A Sodus woman has admitted to falsifying business records and stealing more than $34,000 from her place of employment. The theft took place over the course of several years, which authorities currently believe is a four-year window. Paula D. Coe, 53, of Route 14 in Alton, was arrested on Tuesday for embezzling an estimated $34,808.76 over her time as office manager at D’Amico Chrysler on Routes 5&20 in Geneva. Authorities have pointed out though that the depth of the theft is still unknown as company accountants continue working to understand how far the theft went.Authorities do know that Coe had falsified deposit slips during her time as the office manager at D’Amico Chrysler in Geneva, which allowed her to steal the difference.On January 19th Coe was arrested on charges of grand larceny in the 3rd degree, as well as falsifying business records in the 1st degree. She is due back in Seneca Town Court on February 3rd.
