A pair from Geneva have been charged with murder after Duane Hollenbeck, 59, of Dryden was discovered by hikers in Chickamuaga Battlefield. The national park in Georgia was the site where Hollenbeck’s body was discovered. The suspects in the murder case, who were officially arrested and charged were Jennifer DeMott and Robert Brooks. DeMott is currently at Catoosa County Jail, while Brook is awaiting extradition to Catoosa County Jail from Knox County Jail in Tennessee.Officials report that DeMott had fled back to New York, where she was arrested at an undisclosed location. Investigators say that Hollenbeck’s body has been transported back to Atlanta for an autopsy, but the results had not yet been released. The investigators did point out that the body showed significant signs of “blunt force trauma.” Investigators also beleive that DeMott knew Hollenbeck. However, it is believed at this point that the pair invited Hollenbeck on a road trip down to Georgia, where he was murdered.Hollenbeck was previously employed by Cornell University before becoming disabled.
