Early Thursday morning the Schuyler County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at a residence in the Village of Montour Falls that resulted in the seizure of heroin and over $1000 in cash. Adam C. Welch, age 23 of Montour Falls, was arrested for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the third degree, a class “B” felony. Charges allege that Adam Welch possessed heroin with the intent to sell it. He was arraigned in the Village of Montour Falls Court where he was remanded to jail in lieu of $2500/$5000 bail/bond. Also arrested during the execution of the warrant was Kayla M. Welch, age 25 of Burdett, for criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree, a class “A” misdemeanor. She was issued an appearance ticket to reappear in the Village of Montour Falls Court at a later date. She was also arrested on a warrant out of the City of Ithaca for petit larceny. Kayla Welch was turned over to the Ithaca Police Department. The investigation is still ongoing and further charges are pending.
