Seneca Falls woman charged with welfare fraud

Seneca County Sheriff Tim Luce announced on Monday that on July 27 investigators arrested a Seneca Falls woman for welfare fraud after she was found to have been receiving benefits illegally.

Investigators say Tammy L. Ticer, 44, of Seneca Falls was charged with offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree, welfare fraud in the fifth degree, petit larceny and misuse of food stamps.

Ticer allegedly received $494 in SNAP benefits that she was not entitled to, according to investigators. She was arraigned on the charges in Seneca Falls Town Court and was released without bail. She will appear in Waterloo Village Court to answer the charges.
