The Yates County Legislature is pleased to announce that after a thorough evaluation of Yates County Government and the search for a replacement for the long time County Administrator, Sarah Purdy, the process has come to an end. During their meeting Monday, the County Legislature appointed Robert Lawton of Santa Rosa California to the position.
Mr. Lawton has extensive experience in County Government. He has most recently served as Deputy County Administrator in Sonoma County California. Prior to that he was County Manager in Luzerne County Pennsylvania for several years. He had previous experience at counties in California, Wisconsin, and New York.
He received his B.A. at SUNY New Paltz and his M.A. at the University of Iowa. In addition, he is certified with several nationwide executive credentials. Robert is active in the National Association of Counties and the International City/County Managers Association.
