A Rochester man was charged on August 4 in an attempted robbery that took place in Wayne County, according to Sheriff Barry Virts.
Virts says that Tedurell A. Williams, 24, of Rochester was charged with attempted robbery in the third degree and harassment in the second degree after he allegedly struck the female victim in the face and attempted to steal her purse.
Deputies say the event happened in the area of Broad St. in Lyons. He was arraigned in Galen Town Court and bail was set at $25,000 cash, or $50,000 insurance bond. An order of protection was issued for the victim, according to Virts and he is to have no further contact with the individual.
Williams will appear in Lyons Town Court to answer the charges.
