Ithaca woman becomes irate while deputies execute warrant

Deputies in Tompkins County report that an Ithaca woman was arrested on August 25, after an incident involving police officers while executing a warrant.

Authorities say at about 3:30 pm on August 25 deputies responded to 13 Third St. in the Town of Dryden to execute a warrant. During the investigation, deputies report that an unrelated female became disorderly and refused to comply with law enforcement.

She began screaming obscenities, threatening officers, making obscene gestures and repeatedly had to be escorted out of an established perimeter area for her own safety.

Deputies charged Cynthia L. Overbaugh, 44, of Ithaca with obstruction of governmental administration in the second degree and disorderly conduct. She was released with an appearance ticket and will answer the charge at a later date.
