PRIMARY RESULTS: Helming holds 193 vote lead with 1,000+ absentee ballots remaining

The New York State Board of Elections is reporting that in the 54th District Canandaigua Supervisor Pam Helming has held off a tight primary battle from Ontario County businessman Floyd Rayburn. They report that all 164 districts are reporting within the 54th, which means that the results we’ve provided below give the closest insight into the progress of the race.

In a statement Tuesday night, Helming thanked her supporters throughout the 54th District:

“I want to thank the people of the 54th Senate District for their faith and trust in me and their grassroots support of our campaign.  Because of them, we won our primary and I can’t thank them enough.

Tonight, they sent a message that they want a strong, common sense Conservative to fight for them to clean up Albany and get government off the backs of small businesses who actually create the jobs we need.

I am grateful for their support and I look forward to working for the vote of every resident of the 54th Senate District in November and representing their interests in the state Senate.”
