When Joe Prestigiacomo first laid eyes on the 18.5-acre hilltop property just off Exit 44, it was love at first sight. It’s probably the same way Ed Trenholm felt more than a half-century ago when he decided to build an exotic, high-end hotel there.
“It was evening and the sun was setting,” said Prestigiacomo, the driving force behind Rochester’s 100-year-old Petrillo’s Bakery. “I just looked out and said, ‘This is gorgeous. We’ve got to do something with this. It has so much potential everywhere, in every aspect.’”
