Developer: Work to put roof over stalled hotel work may begin next week

The news may not be all that many city residents want to see with the stalled Canandaigua Finger Lakes Resort project on the lake, but it’s something. One of the owners of the property, David Genecco, said the plan is to begin putting a roof on the structure next week.

As the structure is a skeleton at this point, Assistant City Manager John Goodwin said city officials are hopeful the work does happen. “Progress is at a very slow pace,” Goodwin said. Refuting rumors, City Manager Ted Andrzejewski said the hotel is not getting torn down and he is hopeful that more work will be done.
