City of Canandaigua, chamber may part ways over economic development

Could Canandaigua City Council be looking elsewhere for economic development services? City staff members are preparing a request for proposals for the service, which now is provided by the Canandaigua Chamber of Commerce. The one-year, $104,000 contract with the 105-year-old business organization runs out at the end of the year.

Members of City Council’s environmental/parks committee on Tuesday night are expected to review a proposed RFP, which presumably will spell out what economic development services the city expects for next year.
