Victor roadwork takes a bite out of business

Local business owners are feeling the squeeze from prolonged road construction on Maple Avenue in the village of Victor. They say the “road closed” signs and orange construction cones are discouraging regular customers from taking the extra time and effort to shop and dine at their businesses.

Victor Chamber of Commerce Executive Director Mitch Donovan said Finn’s Tap Room, Blue Toad Cider and Sequels Furnishings — all accessed by Maple Avenue — depend heavily on walk-in traffic. But the perception that these businesses are closed, or impossible to get to, is taking a significant bite out of sales, he said.
