Canandaigua City Council explores zoning change

City Council is considering eliminating the requirement of a temporary use permit that may make it easier for a developer to obtain financing to redo the Fort Hill auditorium. And in the process, owners of carry-out restaurants and home-based businesses also may be able to breathe a sigh of relief.

Conifer Realty, which owns Fort Hill Apartments and is seeking to refurbish the former Canandaigua Academy auditorium inside, approached the city about the temporary renewable special-use permits.
