Lawsuit pursued in case involving shooting death of Macedon dog

A grand jury will determine next week if the Macedon town code enforcement officer — also a part-time Macedon police officer — who shot and killed a dog in August did so in self defense. As that case unfolds in Macedon Town Court, the attorney representing the owner of Sniper, the deceased 9-year-old pit bull/lab mix, has begun his pursuit of a lawsuit against shooter Ron Hall, along with Macedon Police Chief John Colella and the town of Macedon. “It’s a pretty devastating experience for anyone to go through,” said Buffalo-based animal rights attorney Matthew Albert, who is representing Sniper’s owner, Tiffany Matteson. “It’s a brutal situation for all involved and was brutally preventable.”
