Syracuse holds off Boston College for second straight win

Dino Babers’ Syracuse Orange football team backed up last week’s upset victory over Virginia Tech with a 28-20 road victory at a cool and rainy Chestnut Hill against the lowly Boston College Eagles.

Syracuse quarterback Eric Dungey completed 32-of-38 passes for a career-high 434 yards and, in the fourth quarter, with the Orange ahead 21-20, Amba Etta-Tawo cradled in a deep ball from Dungey and ran 68 yards for the winning margin…

Earlier, Orange receiver Steve Ishmael recorded his first touchdown reception of the season with this incredible sideline grab…

Dungy also rushed for 54 yards on the afternoon.

The win lifts Syracuse to the .500 mark for the season at 4-4 and sets-up the Orange for a reasonable shot at a postseason bowl game. Syracuse will finish their schedule at #4 Clemson, home against N.C. State, home against #13 Florida State, and then on the road at Pittsburgh on November 26th. Syracuse will need to win 2 of the remaining 4 contests to qualify for a postseason bowl game.
