Waterloo woman charged with DWI, petit larceny, and public consumption after incident

On Friday, October 28th at 6:45 pm the Waterloo Police Department arrested Kristine Szumigala, 42, of Waterloo for driving while intoxicated, petit larceny and consumption of alcohol in a public place.

The arrest stems from a complaint of an intoxicated person at a local gas station who drove her car there. Szumigala is accused of driving her car to the local store and then going inside the store, stealing a can of alcohol and consuming the alcohol in the store. When officers arrived Szumigala was still in the store consuming the alcohol and was taken into custody.

She was arraigned in Seneca Falls Town Court and was sent to the Seneca County Jail with no bail. Szumigala is scheduled to return to Waterloo Village Court on November 2, 2016.
