Plea deal rejected in Canandaigua rape case

The man arrested in September for allegedly having sexual intercourse with a 16-year-old girl at a residence in the city of Canandaigua rejected a plea deal that included a sentence of three years behind bars in exchange for an admission of guilt.

Jurrell J. Thompson, 25, who has no permanent address and is charged with third-degree rape, a class E felony, appeared in Ontario County Court on Wednesday where the offer made by the District Attorney’s Office was turned down. Thompson, defended by public defender Patrick Conklin, is accused of having sex with the youth while at a residence on South Main Street in early September, according to Canandaigua police officers.
