Honeoye pair hospitalized after being struck by 92-year-old motorist in Canandaigua

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Thursday at approximately 3:38 pm deputies responded to a personal injury crash on County Road 32 in the Town of Canandaigua.

Deputies say that Robert F. Sykes, 92, of Rochester was stopped at a stop sign on Kickox Road at County Road 32 – when he started into the intersection northbound – getting struck by a 2011 Hyundai Sonata traveling west on County Road 32.

Monica Zello, 28, of Honeoye, as well as her 4-year-old daughter were in the vehicle. Both complained of pain and were transported to F.F. Thompson Hospital. Sykes was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way at an intersection. He’ll answer the charges at a later date.
