Ten years later, local leaders recall effort that reshaped economic development in Auburn

Today's Auburn is a much more enriched city than what it was 10 years ago, community leaders said Wednesday. Former mayor Guy Cosentino said "wind swirls" could be seen in downtown Auburn on weekends since there wasn't much on Genesee and State streets, for example. And economic development efforts were "splintered" without the presence of a centralized hub, said Joe Bartolotta of R&M Real Estate.
