After record storm, Auburn officials review snow removal policies

At this point, it’s hard to say how much road salt Auburn crews needed to battle the city’s record-breaking snowstorm over the last three days.

Auburn’s Department of Public Works started the fiscal year with around 2,500 tons of salt at its disposal. Then Mother Nature dropped around 32 inches of snow onto the city over a 72-hour period, according to the National Weather Service, with the majority coming Sunday afternoon through Monday.
