A 54-year-old Savannah man was charged with consuming an alcoholic beverage in a vehicle, as well as felony driving while intoxicated, according to deputies in Wayne County.
Deputies say that Aronold L. Guthrie, 54, of Savannah was charged with consumption of an alcoholic beverage in a motor vehicle, felony driving while intoxicated, and improper signal after an incident in the Town of Savannah.
Deputies say Guthrie was found operating a motor vehicle in an intoxicated condition with a blood-alcohol content of .12 percent.
Guthrie was also charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the seventh degree after he was found to be in possession of cocaine. He was issued traffic tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
