Festival of Lights in Clifton Springs brightens holiday spirits

Clifton Springs is welcoming a number of seasonal celebrities — Santa Claus, Rudolph the Red-nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and the Dickens carolers among them. They will join students from Midlakes and a host of locals in ushering in the holidays at the annual Festival of Lights, from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday.

The village’s historic Main Street will be dazzling with lights, entertainment and fun activities including free wagon rides. The Clifton Springs YMCA’s “Dance With Me” troupe will help get things started with a preview performance of “The Nutcracker” ballet at 5:30 p.m.
