Owners of home improvement company charged with grand larceny in Canandaigua

The Canandaigua Police Department has made two arrests in connection with a home improvement larceny, which took place in May of this year after over $43,000 worth of work was never completed.

Nicholas A. Hagadone, 27, of Cohocton and Tracey A. Young, 34, of Wayland were charged with third-degree grand larceny. The pair is accused of stealing $43,790 from a resident on Pleasant Street where they operated Mirellas Home Improvements. They entered into contract with the residents — promising to complete home improvements and received $43,790 to do so.

Hagadone and Young failed to perform any work as agreed to in the contract, failed to place the money received for services in a trust, which is required by New York State Lien Law and failed to return the money when requested.

Hagadone and Young were arraigned in Canandaigua City Court and remanded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of bail.
