Geneva man arrested in Penn Yan after refusing to accept diagnosis at hospital, making repeated calls to 911

Penn Yan Police report that they arrested a Geneva man after a series of incidents at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital.

Jason D. Ward, 26, of Geneva was initially treated at Soldiers and Sailors Hospital, which resulted in him being discharged by staff after treatment. At that point, officers say that Ward refused to leave the site and began making a commotion. Ward then made repeated 911 calls until authorities responded. Police say that he was refusing the medical diagnosis of the hospital staff.

Upon arrival, they told him not to call 911 again after medical officials had already deemed him ‘OK’ to be discharged. He subsequently made another call to the Yates County 911 in front of police.

He was arrested for falsely reporting an incident.
