No injuries in rollover on SR 96 in Covert

The Seneca County Sheriff’s Office reports that on Wednesday at 8:08 am deputies responded to State Route 96 in Covert for a one car rollover accident.

Deputies say that a vehicle operated by Sierra Coney, 18, of Ovid was traveling south on State Route 96 when the vehicle veered off the west shoulder of the roadway. Coney attempted to gain control of the vehicle when it spun across the roadway — striking the east side ditch, where the vehicle then rolled over onto it’s roof in a field.

Coney and her passenger, Adam C. Miller, 22, of Ovid were treated at the scene by Trumansburg Ambulance and released. Deputies say sun glare was a factor in the cause of the accident.

No tickets were issued.
