Police: Penn Yan woman sold drugs, alcohol to children; hosted underage parties

The Penn Yan Police Department reports the arrest of a Penn Yan woman following an investigation into alleged underage drinking parties over the course of several months where she allegedly purchased alcohol for children.

Police say Rebecca S. Rossman, 36, of Penn Yan was charged with fifth-degree criminal sale of a controlled substance, second-degree criminal sale of marijuana, criminal nuisance, as well as four counts of first-degree unlawfully dealing with a child.

Police also say that Rossman allegedly sold controlled substances and marijuana to children during the parties, which prompted to drug charges. the criminal sale of a controlled substance charge is a Class D felony. She was arraigned in Penn Yan Court and remanded to the Yates County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
