A cold front is pushing through the Finger Lakes early Thursday morning. A few areas of moderate snow accompanied the front, but are mostly east of the area as of 7:30 am. Additional snow showers are likely through the morning and midday hours as a second cold front crosses the region.
These snow showers may briefly reduce visibilities with up to an inch of accumulation. During the afternoon, the snow showers should consolidate into lake effect snow bands primarily outside of the Finger Lakes region. Some glimpses of sun between the clouds will be possible this afternoon.
Temperatures will only rise a little today, with highs topping out mostly in the upper 20s. The wind will become rather gusty, however, making it feel even chillier. Top wind gusts of 30-25 mph are likely this afternoon.
