Arc of Seneca Cayuga awarded $630K grant for Finger Lakes Textiles upgrade

Arc of Seneca Cayuga has been awarded a $630,000 grant from the Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Nonprofit Infrastructure Capital Investment Program.

The grant will be used to renovate and expand the building that houses the Finger Lakes Textiles operation at 1885 Danaren Drive in Seneca Falls. Auburn-based Beardsley Architects + Engineers of Auburn submitted the application and designed the proposed renovation and 4,500-square-foot expansion.

The current Arc-sponsored Finger Lakes Textiles work force of 41 developmentally disabled adults produces more than a million pieces of cold-weather headgear annually. Most of that is manufactured under contract with the Department of Defense. An increasing percentage is being made for domestic commercial customers. The project will provide the space needed to expand production, creating more jobs and providing additional revenue for Arc.
