Lyons man charged with failing to comply with sex offender registry rules

Wayne County Sheriff’s Deputies report the arrest of a Lyons man man as the result of an investigation into a violation of the NY State Corrections Law/Sex Offender Registration Act.

Sydney L Chase Jr., 32, a registered, level two sex offender in Wayne County is charged with one count of failure to provide or update his photograph as prescribed by the Corrections Law of the State of New York.

As a level two sex offender a person is required by law to provide or update his photograph every three years from when he or she was given a designation as a level one or two sex offender.

Sydney Chase was arrested for Failure to Provide/Update his Photograph and was arraigned before T/Galen Justice Carr and was remanded to jail on no bail .

He is scheduled to apperar back in the Town of Lyons Justice Court at a later date and time to answer the charge.
