Shoplifter charged after striking patrol car, injuring deputy while fleeing in Victor

A 24-year-old Rochester woman is facing a robbery charge after an investigation into a theft at the Eastview Mall on January 29th.

Deputies in Ontario County say that Krystal Machado, 24, of Rochester was charged with second-degree robbery after an investigation revealed that she forcibly stole merchandise valued at $546.50 from Lord & Taylor at Eastview Mall.

Deputies at the mall attempted to stop her. However, she entered a vehicle and temporarily evaded police. In the process, deputies say she struck a marked patrol unit causing minor damage to the vehicle.

She then sped away causing minor physical injury to a deputy.

On January 31st she was located and remamnded to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of cash bail. She will answer the charge in Victor Town Court at a later date.
