The run is again a partner event for 261 Fearless, Inc., a global community of female runners and walkers founded by Kathrine Switzer. Switzer, who made history as the first woman to run the Boston Marathon as a numbered entry in 1967, is again the national spokesperson for the run. Switzer will run the Boston Marathon just weeks before the Right to Run for the 50th anniversary of that 1967 run.
The Women’s Right to Run race is open to men and women and will take place on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Seneca Falls, New York. In its inaugural year people ages 4 to 88 participated. Runners have the option of registering to run a 5K or 19K, both of which are USATF (USA Track & Field) certified.
