One person has died, while three others were injured in a serious multi-car crash on State Route 20 in Sennett.
According to those on the scene three cars were involved in the initial crash, with the fourth vehicle swerving to avoid the wreck crashing into the ditch along the road.
Police have identified the victim of the accident as Joseph S. Raymond, 30, of Auburn. According to Syracuse.com Raymond was driving a 1998 Honda Civic east on the two-lane road. Ashley M. Hester, 29, of Auburn, was riding in the Civic at the time of the accident.
Authorities say Raymond lost control of the car, which spun around and left the eastbound lane and went into the westbound lane.
The car crossed into the path of a westbound Honda CRV, which T-boned the Civic, according to reports. The Civic kept spinning and was hit by a westbound Chevrolet Silverado pickup-truck.
The force of the crashes tore Raymond’s vehicle apart, Gower said. The front end ended up on the northern side of the road and the back end came to rest on the southern side.
