Public hearings set concerning tax breaks for Auburn Holiday Inn, Nolan block projects

Public hearings will be held next week to review tax exemptions requested for two separate development projects in the downtown Auburn area.

Developers behind a series of proposed renovations to the Holiday Inn and the Nolan block of Genesee Street properties have applied for mortgage recording tax and sales and use tax exemptions.

Members of the Auburn Industrial Development Authority moved last week to progress those applications to public hearings. Oral and written comments will be accepted during the hearings, which will be held consecutively on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Memorial City Hall.
