One arrested after lengthy investigation into Canandaigua shooting; other suspects sought

A 34-year-old Rochester man has been arrested after an incident on May 2nd, 2015, which resulted in an investigation spanning over eight months.

The incident took place at 8:09 am at an apartment complex on Jefferson Avenue. The report was for shots fired around the building.

When police arrived on scene they discovered a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartment complex that had sustained a significant amount of damage, as the result of being struck be several shotgun blasts.

On Thursday, Robert R. Mitchell, 34, of Rochester was arrested for felony criminal mischief around 10:21 am, according to police.

He was arraigned in Canandaigua City Court and is due to reappear in court on March 3rd at 8:30 am.

The investigation is ongoing in an effort to identify additional suspects.
